Precision Spinal Procedures
PMR providers perform many different types of
procedures to treat pain. Some procedures
are performed in the office, such as joint,
tendon, and muscle injections.
Other precision spinal procedures are
performed by Dr. Will under flouroscopy (X-ray)
at Fairview Southdale and Fairview Ridges
Hospitals. Dr. Will is a member of the
International Spine Intervention Society and the
American Society of Interventional Pain
Physicians.
Monitored Medications
Prescription medications are sometimes required to help manage
acute or chronic pain conditions. If this is necessary, patients can
be safely treated under our careful supervision with the most
effective pain medications available today.
Dr. Will is board certified in the subspecialty of pain medicine by
the American Board of Pain Medicine. This is a certification
restricted to pain management specialists whose focus is on pain
management and who have demonstrated their skills through
comprehensive testing.
Pain Management and Rehabilitation
Physical Therapy
At PMR, we have on-site physical therapy
which allows care conferences to be held
between providers on a daily basis.
Our doctorate level physical therapy staff
can treat the full spectrum of conditions,
from acute to chronic.
Therapy for an acute pain condition often
involves ultrasound, electric stimulation,
traction, myofascial release, and
instruction on stretches. However, for
chronic conditions, we also provide active
physical therapy such as MedX strength
training and expert instruction on a
personal home exercise program, such
as Swiss ball programs.
